My name is Eleanor and I’ve been a librarian for about 3 years. I decided to go to library school because… well, because my technical theater degree wasn’t getting me anywhere and US News and World Reports said every librarian in the world was retiring in 2004. I feel in love with librarianship shortly after getting my first job (due to a relocation, not a retirement; US News and World Reports lied to me!). One of the most exciting things to discover about being a librarian was that while the job has almost nothing to do with books, it has tons to do with helping customers navigate our newly technology-filled lives. I’ve ended up working in a library where the Digital Divide is still going strong; I had no idea helping close that gap could be so much fun!
In addition to being a librarian, I’m a huge sports fan, an avid needleworker and my favorite book is “The Three Musketeers”.
